📢 The research project FEDERAL – FEDerated sEcurity and pRotection of criticAL InfraStructure was presented at the Thessaloniki International Fair 2025, featured at the pavilion of the ITHACA Lab from the University of Western Macedonia. The FEDERALS project is focused on the design and development of an innovative cybersecurity platform for critical infrastructures, leveraging state-of-the-art technologies such as:
✔️ SDN/NFV (Software-Defined Networking/Network Function Virtualization): To enable programmable and agile management of network security.
✔️ Federated Learning: For advanced threat detection while ensuring the privacy of sensitive data.
✔️ Risk Assessment: Based on international standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 27005) and incorporating novel honeypot solutions.
✔️ Personnel Training: Utilising realistic Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (AR/VR) scenarios to prepare staff for immediate and effective incident response to cyberattacks.
Participation in the Thessaloniki International Fair 2025 provided an opportunity to demonstrate how research and innovation contribute to the protection of critical infrastructures, thereby enhancing the resilience of digital systems against cyber threats.
